  • The Early Years (EY) PEP Toolkit is an adapted version of the PEP Toolkit, designed for children in Year R and Early Years settings. As for our standard PEP Toolkit, it includes an audit tool covering common areas of unmet needs for vulnerable children. The second section of the EY PEP Toolkit contains chapters linked to each area of unmet need, with the chapter offering further information around this area along with practical ideas for support. 

    The EY PEP Toolkit can be used for children who are looked after and previously looked after, but is also highly useful for many EY children who may have experienced disruptions to attachment and/or early life trauma. 

    Alongside the audit and toolkit, a proforma is also provided, which can be used for planning support for a child based on identified needs. This can aid in providing a more consistent approach across staff members.
