Pupil Premium Plus
Pupil premium is additional funding for state-funded schools in England to help raise the educational outcomes of disadvantaged 5-16-year-olds. Pupil premium plus refers to the portion of the pupil premium grant for children who are looked-after by the local authority or were previously looked-after by a local authority or other state care.
We work with schools to ensure the funding is used to help deliver the outcomes identified in the children’s personal education plans, in line with the menu of approaches. The pupil premium plus funding for looked-after children differs from other kinds of pupil premium in that it is managed by the Virtual School Head rather than schools. Some funding is used by the virtual school for centralised work and the remainder is paid to schools in termly instalments. Please see the Pupil Premium Plus Policy for details.
